The IUPAC Periodic Table Challenge was originally designed as an online quiz about all of the 118 chemical elements as a way to engage students, and offer an opportunity to participate in the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements (IYPT2019). The Periodic Table Challenge was hugely successful and you can read more about it here. Over the course of the year, more than 8,000 players joined in to celebrate IYPT2019, they were from every continent and 136 countries/territories. Over 60,000 tests were taken and 8,000 certificates were awarded.
Given the success of the challenge, IUPAC has just launched the PTChallenge 2.0. It has new exciting questions and we encourage you to participate at https://iupac.org/periodic-table-challenge/. Participants from more than 100 countries have already joined in and translations to Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish languages are expected shortly. Also, most active schools/institutions will have a chance to win a Periodic Table Poster hand-signed by a chemistry Nobel laureate. Get in your element and join us!
