Mr. Patrick W. Fritz

Patrick W. Fritz

Patrick W. Fritz received his B.Sc. in Technical Chemistry in 2018 and M.Sc. in Technical Chemistry in 2019 from Technische Universität Wien, Austria. During his bachelor studies, he worked with Dr. Florian Glöcklhofer on new synthetic approaches towards tuning the emissive properties of organic molecules. Thereafter, he joined the research group of Prof. Michael J. Bojdys at Charles University Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the IOCB Summer Student Program where he worked on the design of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and porous organic polymers. During his masters he joined the group of Prof. Miriam M. Unterlass where he worked on the design and hydrothermal synthesis of polyimide-based COFs. In February of 2020 he started his PhD studies in the research group of Prof. Ali Coskun at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, where he works on organic materials for energy storage applications as well as novel techniques towards porous conductive polymers.

Patrick is an active member of the young Swiss Chemical Society (young SCS) where he acts as a board member and delegate to the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) and International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN).
