Dr. Lori Ferrins
Lori obtained her Ph.D. from the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University, Australia. Her research focused on the design and synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds for the treatment of human African trypanosomiasis. Lori has also been involved with IYCN since 2017 and was elected Chair in 2019. She was awarded Nickel on the Periodic Table of Younger Chemists.

Dr. Christine Dunne’s practice as a Patent Agent focuses on domestic and international patent prosecution, with an emphasis on medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. Christine obtained her Ph.D. from Colorado State University and previously worked at Cetya Therapeutics developing selective HDAC inhibitors. She was the task group chair for the Periodic Table of Younger Chemists and serves as Secretary on the Younger Chemists Committee of the ACS.

Sebastian Weber is currently a PhD student in the group of Prof. Jan-Dierk Grunwaldt with Dr. Thomas Sheppard at the Institute Institute for Chemical Technology and Polymer Chemistry (ITCP) and Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Karlsruhe, Germany. His current research focuses on 3D spatially-resolved studies of catalyst materials.

He is a Biophysical and Computational Chemist, working on the self-assembly of peptides and nucleic acids. Dr. Jovana V. Milić is a scientist at EPFL in Switzerland and governance team member at the IYCN. Her research focuses on developing supramolecular nanomaterials for energy conversion. She is also invested in science outreach and education, and she has been recognized by the IUPAC Periodic Table of Younger Chemists (Db) and as CAS Future Leader 2019.

Stephen holds a doctoral position in Bioinorganic Chemistry at the University of Sheffield where he is developing DNA probes and imaging agents. He is a recipient of an IUPAC Young Observer award by the Royal Society of Chemistry (2019). He currently sits on the Executive Board of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) as the Governance Team leader.

Bianca is a PhD student at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Her research focuses on the development of novel pyranonapthaquinone antibiotics from compounds derived from cashew nutshell liquid. Bianca has been an active member of IYCN since 2017, and has served on both the Social Media steering committee (2017-2019), as well as the Governance steering committee (2020-present).

Fun Man is an avid volunteer who served on the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) steering board for two terms (2014—2018), and WorldSkills International Competition as a Technical Expert, and on the International Younger Chemists Network Board (IYCN) as the elected secretary. Fun Man was conferred the YSEALI Professional Fellowship and ASEM-DUO Fellowship in 2019.

After completing her PhD in 2014, Aurora went to work for the Royal Society of Chemistry. Since 2018 Aurora has been a part of the RSC Member Communities team. Here, she uses her experience gained as a volunteer with EYCN organising local, national and international early career events to support over 130 volunteer-led committees to execute a diverse programme of activities for 55,000 RSC members.

Gabriela received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Campinas in Brazil. Her research focused on the elucidation of the enzymatic mechanism that follows the Old Yellow enzymes from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the reduction of nitroalkenes and enones. After finishing her Ph.D. is dedicated to her social entrepreneurship project “Becas para Latinoamericanos”. Gabriela is also involved with IYCN, currently collaborating as the webmaster of the organization. She was awarded Beryllium on the Periodic Table of Younger Chemists.

Patrick W. Fritz is a Ph.D. Student in the research group of Prof. Ali Coskun at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, where he works on organic materials for energy storage applications as well as novel techniques towards porous conductive polymers. Patrick is an active member of the young Swiss Chemical Society (young SCS) where he acts as a board member and delegate to the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) and International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN).

Antonio M. Rodríguez García is a Research Assistant Professor at the Instituto Regional de Investigaciones Científicas Aplicadas (IRICA) at the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha. He has represented the Spanish chemists at EYCN since 2018 on behalf of the Jóvenes Investigadores Químicos (JIQ) from the Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ). He became the EYCN Chair in 2019. Nowadays, he works to empower and encourage the younger generations together with the 33 EYCN delegates, with committees coming from 27 different countries, representing 43000 young chemists.

Maximilian Menche is a PhD Student at BASF and at the Catalysis Research Laboratory of Heidelberg University, working on computational homogeneous catalysis at the interface of academia and industry. In 2017, he started to support the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS) and took over the Secretary position in Spring 2019. In this role, he supports the development and education of young scientists and promoting chemistry to the broader public.
